The SRU Communication and Media Hall of FameThe Slippery Rock University Communication and Media Hall of Fame is an annual event honoring outstanding alumni and community members who have made a significant impact in the fields of communication and media, and in the communities they serve.
The event celebrates individuals across various stages of their careers through a series of distinguished awards presented by the Strategic Communication and Media program. Hall of Fame Inductees This award recognizes alumni with 15 or more years of professional experience who demonstrate excellence in communication or media. Honorees have shown consistent leadership, service to their profession and community, and a track record of superior performance throughout their career. This is the department’s primary form of recognition and the central focus of the Hall of Fame ceremony. Lifetime Achievement Award Presented every three years, this is the department’s highest honor. It recognizes an individual with 20 or more years of experience whose career has made a transformative and lasting impact on the field. Lifetime Achievement honorees are selected from the pool of Distinguished Communicator nominees. Founders Award Honors individuals for their outstanding service, volunteerism or advocacy in support of communication and media, both within and beyond the SRU community. Young Alumni Award Recognizes alumni who have graduated within the last 5-15 years and have demonstrated early career success, leadership potential and a commitment to their profession. Undergraduate Excellence Award Presented to a current undergraduate student who has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership in communication or media, and meaningful contributions to campus or community initiatives. |
